Daniela Foster

Hi! My name is Daniela Foster and I’m from Culver City, California. I’m currently entering my fourth year at the University of California, Merced and am studying political science with concentrations in comparative politics and pre-law. I am currently interning to gain more experience in the law field, and to gain a better knowledge on tenant rights. Right now, my goal is to take a gap year after graduating to work at a Los Angeles law firm, then to proceed with law school and hopefully become an immigration attorney.

Kaitlyn Loughlin

I am from Oxnard, California and graduated from California Lutheran University with degrees in Political Science and Criminal Justice. I am currently studying law at Southwestern Law School. I decided to intern with Tenant’s of LA because I believe no one should live in inhabitable homes and I want to provide tenants with resources that can assist them with habitability issues. My career goal is to become a public defender.

Joseph Toubbeh

Hometown: Yorba Linda, CA

I am currently a student at Chapman University, Fowler School of Law. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Economics and a minor in Law, Justice, and Social Control. I chose to intern with Tenants of LA because I wanted to help the community and educate tenants about their rights. My goal is to become a lawyer in the future, focusing on either Property or Business Law. 

Emily Pita

I’m from Los Angeles, California. I am currently a senior at Loyola Marymount University studying political science and Chicanx and Latinx Studies double major. I am interning with Tenants of LA to help tenants throughout Los Angeles know their rights and advocate for themselves. I have hopes of attending law school and becoming an immigration attorney. 

Valerie VillatoroValerio 

Hello, my name is Valerie Villatoro, my hometown is the city of South Gate and I am currently a student at UCLA, majoring in Business Economics. I am interning at Tenants of LA to explore new career opportunities and serve as an aid to surrounding communities. My career goals are to pursue a law career as a litigant attorney.

Jose Lopez Arroyo 

I am from Porterville, CA. I currently attend Loyola Marymount University and will be graduating in 2022 with a Psychology degree and a Spanish, Political Science minor. I am interning because I think that there is a need to ensure that everyone has adequate and humane living conditions. My plans for the future are to obtain a degree to become a Forensic Psychologist and work for the court.

Nathaniel Quigg

Hello! My name is Nate, and I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. I’m currently a student studying Global & Public Health Sciences at Cornell University with an emphasis in Pre-Law. I’m interning with Tenants Law Firm because I was a tenant once, and it is because of that experience that I now recognize the importance of tenants rights and ensuring they're upheld. Upon the completion of my internship and undergraduate tenure at Cornell, I hope to attend law school and thereon practice law in either New York or California as a civil rights or healthcare attorney. 

Diana Quintero

My hometown is Whittier, California. I am a thesising student at New College of Florida studying social sciences. I am interning because I am passionate about tenant rights and in general being an advocate for those facing social justice issues. I plan on pursuing a masters degree in urban planning and continuing my work in community development and advocacy.

Nicolle Gutierrez 

Hi all! I’m Nicolle and I’m from Torrance, Ca. I am currently a senior majoring in Anthropology at UC Berkeley. Finding this internship was really exciting because it’s allowing me to explore the legal work setting whilst helping the tenants of Los Angeles become more aware of their housing rights. Once I graduate, I hope to attend law school and achieve my goal of becoming a corporate attorney.

Jessica Gallegos

Hi! I’m from La Habra, California. I am currently a student at Claremont McKenna College majoring in Environmental Analysis. I am interning with Tenants of LA to gain a better understanding about tenants’ rights and to be able to support the community. In the future, I hope to attend law school and become a civil litigation lawyer.

Ani Sahakyan

Hi, my name is Ani Sahakyan and I am so excited to be working at Tenants of LA. I am currently a senior at California State University, Northridge as a Business Law major. My goal after graduating is to go to law school and go into entertainment law. I look forward to this summer with Tenants of LA and helping tenants in need reach the resources they require to experience habitable conditions. When my family first moved to the U.S., we faced the same struggles that these tenants are experiencing and I hope to be a helping hand in them advocating for their rights.
